These events are played no matter what the weather, and raise thousands of dollars in contributions to local charities.

First of all, I want to welcome DiscLife.com as a sponsor and the official online partner of Ice Bowl 2002. Besides finding the latest Ice Bowl information, registering your Ice Bowl online, and getting the Ice Bowl logo for promotional use, DiscLife.com will tell the Ice Bowl 2002 story as it happens. There will be a way for you to upload your best Ice Bowl photos directly to the site. In addition, we'll be charting the progress towards our charitable goal and giving updates from individual Ice Bowls as we go.

• When: The official Ice Bowl Corridor is from January 12 to February 18
• Where: At your course.
• Who: All disc golfers gutsy or crazy or desperate enough to play the event regardless of the weather.
• Why: To have fun. To raise funds and food for local food banks or the charities of your choice. To dispel the gloom of winter and as an act of disc golf solidarity around the world.
• How: Schedule it and register with us today.
• Format: It's up to you. We encourage a relatively low-cost format that emphasizes fun and participation for all players. We also strongly encourage some fund- or food-raising effort for your local food bank or fundraising for a charity or cause of your choice.
• Mandatory Ice Bowl Rules: #1. Under no circumstances may an Ice Bowl be cancelled or postponed because of weather conditions. #2. No wimps or whiners are allowed. #3. There are no excuses for not attending. (Either be there or be a wimp!)
• Charity, Disc Golf, and Media Coverage: The media is more likely to show an interest in disc golf when we do it in conjunction with a good cause. So, line up your charity now. The Ice Bowl's traditional charitable outreach has been to local food banks or others who feed the hungry. But, this year, we will count all charitable donations towards the national goal.
• Merchandise: Yes, there are discs from Innova-Champion, Discraft, Gateway, and Millennium; great tee shirts, sweatshirts, caps, and towels from MG Golfwear; and minis from Innova. You will receive ordering information after you register.
• Prizes: Yes, there will be prizes awarded to the Ice Bowls who do best in a number of categories including attendance, media coverage, photos, most fun, etc.
